Patrol Officer
Madison Township, Franklin County, Ohio, is seeking candidates for the position of Patrol Officer. Madison Township is one of seventeen (17) townships situated in the southeast corner of Franklin County, bordered by Fairfield and Pickaway Counties. The annual salary range for this position is currently $66,277.20 - $95,284.80. Lateral Transfers may start higher on the wage scale. This position is classified as non-exempt/bargaining. Preference is given to bilingual, veteran, or social work applicants.
Department:
The Madison Township Police Department was established in 1972 and has provided policing services with integrity, honor, respect, and professionalism to the residents of Madison Township for fifty years. The department has an authorized strength of 22 sworn officers for 2025 and is directed by a Police Chief and supervised by a Patrol Commander and three Patrol Sergeants. In addition, the department has three school resource officers (SROs) and three patrol officers from three companies.

Contract Package:
Lateral Transfers, Shift Differential Pay, Longevity, Pension Pick-Up, Overtime, Compensatory Time up to 200 hours, Tuition Reimbursement, Wellness Payment, Vacation up to 10.8 hours per pay period, Sick Leave 10 hours per month, Annual Shift Bid, Holiday Options; 88 hours in pay, time off, or a combination of both. The Township provides all uniforms and equipment.
The Community:
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission estimates the current population of the township to be 26,596, including 10,773 residents and 4,269 housing units in unincorporated portions of the township. The township encompasses an area of 40.6 square miles, including three cities: Canal Winchester, Groveport, and Obetz. In 2024, Township officers handled 7,127 dispatched calls, 40,021 Calls for Service, and logged 175,813 patrol miles in Madison Township.

Part-Time Firefighter
Madison Township Fire Department has a continuous open application period for part-time employment. This application can be submitted in person, by mail, or by emailing Assistant Chief Adams at cadams@madisontownship.org.

Copy of Firefighter II certification
Copy of EMT-B or EMT-P paramedic certification (all EMT-B’s must be enrolled in paramedic program within 12 months of hire)

State of Ohio Driver's abstract
